Zaw Chand is a graduate from the prestigious Tarkio University, which trains thousands of doctors every year. He is also a part of the NABG (National Academy of Government Doctoral Graduates) and the Rajeev Raman Research Institute for Social Sciences. He has served as a staff at Jain University and as a physician at the Indian Institute of Medical Science. Dr. Zaw Chand has held the prestigious award of Doctor of Medicine, Rajeev Raman Research Institute for Social Sciences in Hyderabad while he was at the Tarkio University as a Professor. He is currently the Chairman of the Tarkio University in Hyderabad. He is also a member of the Joint Committee on the Establishment and Operation of the Ministry of Health, Delhi. He holds the distinguished award of President, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
Dr. Zaw Chand has an active interest in education, health and research. He was a member of the editorial board of the medical journal Social Text, he has been a fellow at the Royal Asiatic Society (RAS) since 2001 and currently a visiting lecturer in the Department of Human Development, Harvard Business School in Cambridge, MA, from 2003-2004. He also served as Vice-President and Co-Founder of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine. He and his wife, Mrs. Kalaal Ahmed, have three children.
